Description

iAlert

iAlert is a cool SIMBL plug-in for your Mac that lets you see event notifications in a neat floating window. The best part? You can totally customize how the notification panel looks to fit your style!

Getting Started with iAlert

Before diving in, make sure you've got the SIMBL loader installed on your Mac. You can easily do this using the SIMBL package installer found in the iAlert software archive. Plus, iAlert comes with its own installer app that makes it easy to remove if you ever want to.

Managing Notifications with Ease

Once you have it set up, you'll find a preference pane in your System Preferences that helps you manage all those notifications. If you prefer doing things manually, just right-click on the iAlert installer app in Finder and launch the pref pane file from the Install folder.

Customize Your Alerts

The iAlert Preferences panel is super user-friendly! You can tweak how your alert panel looks by changing its opacity, background effects, colors, and even sounds. Plus, you get to decide how long alerts stay visible or whether they should pop up automatically. Feeling overwhelmed? No worries; mini alerts are an option too!

Block Alerts When You Need Focus

If you're busy working on something important, iAlert has got your back! You can block all alerts from certain apps while they're active. It's easy to set up custom alerts and rules for yourself, and there are handy add-ons available for specific apps like Entourage, Firefox, and Thunderbird to boost its functionality.

A Handy Tool for Your Desktop

In short, iAlert is an unobtrusive SIMBL plug-in that lets you view personalized alert messages right on your desktop. It integrates smoothly into your system and is controlled through a simple System Preferences pane.
