Hyper

Hyper (formerly known as HyperTerm) is a cool little tool for macOS that makes working with the command line way better! It lets you open multiple tabs and even add some neat extensions to boost what you can do. If you're curious about those extensions, check out the Hyper project page.

Easy Command Line Interface

The interface of Hyper is super simple. You get a clean window where you can type in bash commands. Basically, anything you would run in the Terminal.app works here too!

Multiple Tabs and Windows

What's great about Hyper is that it allows you to work with tabs. This means you can have multiple folders open or run different tasks at the same time without juggling windows all over your screen. Plus, you can even have more than one window open if that's your style.

Tab Organization Tips

At the top of each tab, it mentions that you're using Bash commands, which is helpful but might not be enough sometimes. It would be awesome if you could name the tabs yourself so they're easier to recognize!

Customize Your Look

If you want to jazz up how Hyper looks, you'll need to dive into the ~./hyper.js file found in your user folder. Here, you can tweak things like font size and style, colors for your cursor and background, and even padding.

Add Custom CSS and Shells

You can also throw in some custom CSS to change how the main window or terminal looks! And if you're looking for something specific when starting a session, feel free to set a custom shell.

Install Plug-ins Easily

In that same ~./hyper.js file, don’t forget to add any plug-ins you'd like to use. The Hyper app will give you a heads-up when those plug-ins are ready to go! They’ll be stored in your ~/hyper_plugins folder.
