Horae is a cool tool that helps you view and create MIDI timecodes and SMPTE longitudinal timecodes. It's really handy for controlling your show! The app has a pretty user-friendly interface, but here's the catch: there's no support documentation. So, if you want to learn how to use it, you'll have to figure it out yourself.
One of the best features of Horae is how it automatically detects all the devices connected to your Mac. You can pick your sync source from a simple dropdown menu. Plus, you can add as many LTC readers and generators as you need!
The built-in clock in Horae sends MTC (MIDI Time Code) to any MIDI destination connected to your system. With the Playback function, you can sync the timecodes generated by Horae with data coming in from other apps.
Horae has a convenient Destinations and Devices panel where you can see all available MIDI outputs in your system. You'll also find devices created by the app here. Just remember, each MIDI destination has a checkbox that needs to be ticked if you want timecodes sent there.
If that wasn't enough, Horae supports the Open Sound Control network protocol! This means you can manage music devices connected to your Mac as well as any audio software. You can even view timecodes across your entire network!
This app reads and generates both MIDI and SMPTE timecodes, routes data to MIDI destinations, creates LTC reader and generator devices, and supports OSC network protocol.
The downside? The developers don't provide any documentation at all. So if something goes wrong while using Horae, you'll have to troubleshoot on your own.
