HideMyDock is a handy little app for Mac users who love to multitask using Spaces. You know how it goes—sometimes the Dock gets in the way, especially when you're trying to focus on different tasks. Well, HideMyDock swoops in to save the day!
This open-source app is super simple. It lets you hide your Dock in specific Spaces without messing with the settings for all of them. That means you can keep your workspace clean and organized, just like you want it.
To hide the Dock in a certain Space, just switch over to that Space and click on the HideMyDock icon in your menu bar. Or, if you're a keyboard shortcut fan, hit ⌘H. The next time you jump back into that Space, poof! The Dock will be hidden automatically.
The cool thing about HideMyDock is that it remembers each Space's Dock setting for you. So when you switch between Spaces, it knows whether to show or hide the Dock based on what you've set up before. Right now, it doesn’t consider if you manually change auto-hide settings yet, but fingers crossed that gets added soon!
If you're picky about how your desktop looks in each Space (and let’s be real—some workflows really need that), then this app is perfect for you! It's lightweight and written in native code, so it won’t hog your resources while it's running.
Plus, since it's open-source, you can peek at the code or even pitch in if you've got some ideas brewing. How cool is that?
If you're someone who enjoys using Spaces but finds the Dock getting in your way now and then, give HideMyDock a shot! It adds some nice customization options that macOS doesn’t usually offer—and hey—it’s totally free! For more details or to download HideMyDock, check out SoftPas.
