HandsFree is a super handy app for macOS that turns your Mac into a hands-free device for your mobile phone. How cool is that?
With HandsFree, you can make and receive calls on your Mac using your mobile phone via Bluetooth. This means you can chat while working or browsing the web, all through your Mac's built-in microphone and speakers.
The best part? You can leave your phone charging in another room or tucked away in your bag, and still get calls! Talk about convenience!
HandsFree links up nicely with the Notification Center on macOS. If your battery is running low or you've missed a call, you'll get notified right away.
The status bar menu makes it super easy to check things like your phone's battery life and network coverage. You can also find contacts, open the dial pad, or redial the last number—all with just a click!
This app even lowers the volume of other apps when you're on a call, so you can chat without distractions. Plus, if you miss a call, it lets you ignore it or call back easily.
You can accept phone calls on either your Mac or phone, which makes tracking conversation lengths easy thanks to its built-in timer.
If you're using a non-iOS Bluetooth-enabled phone (like Android 4.4 or higher), HandsFree also allows you to send SMS and MMS messages!
The built-in dial pad helps you call numbers from anywhere—whether they’re online or from other sources outside of your contact list.
You can tweak settings in the Preferences window to run HandsFree at login, switch phones, enable notifications, and even set keyboard shortcuts for quick access to the dial pad.
