Gugle is a simple-to-use widget built on the Yahoo! Widget Engine platform, that enables you to quickly perform a Google search right on your desktop. It's really easy to install and set up.
The interface of the widget is based on a window which contains the Google logo and a box dedicated to text searches. You can write text and press the Enter key, triggering Gugle to bring up results in your default web browser.
From the Widget Preferences panel you can switch to another language for the GUI. Unfortunately, the small app does not integrate any other options or configurable settings of its own.
However, thanks to the standard functions provided by Yahoo! Widget Engine, you can enable the frame to stay on top or below all the other windows, to ignore mouse events and to prevent dragging. Moreover, you can set its opacity level to a predefined value that ranges between 20% and 100%.
Gugle is very low-demanding when it comes to the CPU and memory usage, so it doesn't slow down the computer's overall performance or interrupt user activity. No error notifications have been shown throughout our tests, and the app did not hang or crash. Gugle facilitates a user-friendly platform for rapidly performing Google searches.
