GoLink is a cool programming tool for Windows that helps you create different types of files like EXE, DLL, or SYS. It’s designed to mix COFF (Common Object File Format) and RES files to make Portable Executable files that work smoothly on the Windows operating system.
This software can whip up 32-bit executables for 386 processors and newer (that’s x86) or 64-bit executables for AMD64 or Intel EM64T processors (known as x86-64). So, whether you're working with older or newer systems, GoLink has you covered!
One of the best things about GoLink is that it creates clean output files. This is super handy if you want to dig into the internal structures of executables. Plus, it lets you link files with resources in RES or OBJ formats and generate debug output files with COFF symbols.
You’ll be glad to know that GoLink doesn’t need LIB (library) files to work its magic! It teams up nicely with GoAsm, making it easy to import and export functions and data.
If you're comfortable using the Command Prompt, you'll find GoLink pretty easy to handle. Just input your parameters in CMD, and you're good to go!
The features of GoLink are impressive! You can set an executable file to load at specific spots in virtual memory, create DLLs, make drivers, set program entry points, and even generate reports with details like full paths, file dates, times, and sizes. It also allows inserting loader code for Microsoft Layer for Unicode and creating a Windows Driver Model driver.
