GGet is a handy download manager designed for the GNOME desktop. If you're looking to get things downloaded quickly, this is the tool for you!
Getting GGet up and running is pretty simple. Here’s how you do it:
./configure
. This command sets everything up for your system. If you’re on an old version of System V using csh, just type sh ./configure
. This way, it won’t try to run configure
itself.configure
might take some time. You’ll see messages pop up that tell you what features are being checked.make
. This compiles the package.make check
. This will run any tests that come with the package to make sure everything works as it should.make install
.make clean
. If you're switching computers or setups and want to remove everything created by configure too, use make distclean
. There’s also a more advanced option called make maintainer-clean
, but it's mainly for developers. If you'd like more information or want to download GGet directly, check out this link: This page has what you need!
