Get Tube is a handy little app for Mac OS X that makes watching YouTube videos way easier, especially if your internet connection isn't the best. Instead of streaming online and dealing with buffering, you can just download your favorite videos straight to your computer and watch them whenever you want!
One cool feature of Get Tube is that it works as a desktop client for YouTube. This means you can keep your work and fun separate by not having to open up a bunch of tabs in your web browser. It keeps things clean and simple!
The app has basic web browsing options. You’ll find an address bar at the top where you can type in URLs, and right below that, you'll see the content. The toolbar also has buttons to go back or forward, plus access to the Download window.
While Get Tube doesn’t let you open multiple tabs like a regular browser, it does allow you to log into your YouTube account and check out all your subscriptions without any hassle.
If you want to download something, just go to a YouTube page (the app won’t work on lists) and hit the “Download” button in the top right corner. The first time you do this, it will take you to Preferences where you choose where to save the files and whether to add them to iTunes.
You’ll also get options on whether to download the full video or just the audio track through the Get Tube Download window. This flexibility makes it super easy!
