Description

Gestr

Gestr is a super handy tool that lets you use your Mac’s trackpad to open apps, scripts, URLs, system services, and more with just a simple gesture!

Getting Started with Gestr

To kick things off, you’ll need to create some multitouch trackpad drawings. This means you can assign any app you want to these gestures. Once you've set them up, Gestr will jump into action and launch the app as soon as it sees the gesture on your trackpad.

User-Friendly Interface

When you launch Gestr, a small menu appears in your status bar. You can easily access its panel and start drawing right away!

Main Window Layout

The main window of Gestr is pretty organized. At the top, there’s a drawing canvas where you can create your gestures. Right below that is the app selector, and at the bottom, you'll find extra customization options.

Selecting Your Apps

You can browse through lists of supported apps, bookmarks, scripts, utilities, and services. Just pick one that you want to work with and assign it a multitouch drawing. Remember, all the drawings are made by users like you using the trackpad!

Gesture Recognition Settings

Gestr has a cool feature where it reads your gestures after a time interval that you set in milliseconds. You also get to choose how accurate the app should be when recognizing these gestures. Keep in mind that how well it works depends on these settings.

Customization Options

If you're into multitouch drawings or want features like quickdraw or fullscreen mode, Gestr lets you enable those too!

A Fresh Way to Launch Apps

This app brings a unique twist to launching your favorite applications or opening URLs! You can create specific trackpad drawings for each utility or link; then it's super fast for Gestr to recognize when you've used those gestures. It’s definitely worth giving a try!
