Geekbench AI is just such a tool, a special version of the well-known benchmarking tool meant to evaluate AI workload performance. It can benchmark your CPU, GPU, or NPU, and it allows you to easily compare results with those from other systems and platforms.
The app itself couldn’t be easier to use. It consists of a single window where you can see information about your device and select the type of AI benchmark to be run.
Geekbench AI goes through ten AI workloads using three different data types, aiming to simulate real-world use cases. Once the evaluation is complete, the results are uploaded to the Geekbench website and can be viewed in a browser.
The app can test either your CPU, GPU, or a dedicated neural processing unit. You can use any AI frameworks available on your device.
The Pro version allows you to automate benchmarking using command-line tools, can save results locally without uploading them to the Geekbench browser, and can be run from a portable storage device.
Geekbench AI is also available on Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android. The great thing about a cross-platform benchmarking tool is that you can compare results between different platforms to see which device would be best for your use case.
At the moment, though, there are no AI benchmark charts on the website, and the most recent results cannot be filtered or sorted properly, making comparisons very difficult.
The app itself works great, and it provides a quick and simple way to test your device’s AI capabilities. However, you’ll have to wait for the website to be updated in order to easily compare your results and assess your system’s performance.
