What Does FpcPlace Do?

You can use an optional .ini file to manage those tricky components, change default settings, add values, and pick from different output formats—whether fixed or tailored by you. Plus, it even lets you generate RS-274X files from the placement data to double-check your data extraction.

How to Use FpcPlace

FpcPlace isn't just about generating lists; it can also work as a console filter or use specific files for input and output. When you go the console route, it uses standard devices like stdin and stdout for all your data needs. You can easily load your board file and decide where the output should go using simple redirection commands.

Managing Output Effectively

If you're feeling extra organized, any console logs sent to stderr can be redirected into a file with the 2> stderr command. This way, you won’t lose any important info! You also have the option of using an exceptions list file to deal with unique parts, modify default values, and control how everything is formatted in your output.
