FontSnip is a super handy app that helps you see all the fonts you've got installed on your computer. You can browse through them and check out how different texts look in any font. It even has a cool character map and a favorites manager! Plus, it supports TrueType, device, symbol, and raster fonts.
Getting FontSnip up and running is a breeze. The installation is quick and doesn’t need much help from you. Once you're in, you'll notice that the interface has a classic vibe—kind of retro-looking—but it gets the job done! You can view your TrueType fonts, change how they appear, and scroll through the list easily.
If you find a font you really like, just right-click on it to add it to your favorites for quick access later. Removing it is just as simple! On the top part of the main window, there's a spot where you can see sample text using any chosen font. Feel free to tweak it to get an idea of what it'll look like!
No need to scroll forever! FontSnip has a quick search tool that lets you type in some letters from a font's name if you want to find something specific fast.
You can also preview samples of uppercase and lowercase letters along with numbers in any selected font. Want to see them Bold or Italic? You got it! Explore the character map of your chosen font or copy its name or certain characters straight to your Clipboard.
This little utility doesn’t slow down your computer at all. It runs smoothly without needing too much CPU or memory. During our tests, we didn’t encounter any error messages or crashes—it was pretty stable!
That said, the interface could use some sprucing up because it's a bit basic and gives off an unfinished vibe. But overall, FontSnip is effective and pretty easy to use when checking out installed fonts and creating custom sample texts.
