FontReport is a super easy tool that helps you check out fonts on your computer. Whether they’re already on your system or from an external source, this software makes it simple to preview them.
Once you download it, just unzip the folder and run the executable. The cool thing? You don’t need to install it! This means you can keep it on a USB drive and use it anywhere without leaving any traces behind.
The main screen of FontReport is split into three sections. The top part shows sample text, the middle part lists details about the selected font, and the bottom section displays all available fonts. It’s straightforward!
You can change what’s in the sample text area to whatever message you want. Plus, there’s a handy slider that lets you adjust the text size on-the-fly!
One of my favorite features is how you can drag and drop fonts right into the main window to see how they look. If that's not your style, you can also add fonts through the 'File' menu.
If you want to browse through all your installed fonts, just hit ‘Add Installed Fonts’. This will scan your computer for TrueType and OpenType fonts, so you can check out their properties like font name, family type, glyph count, unicode ranges, and more.
Overall, FontReport is a really helpful tool if you're looking to view how different fonts appear before adding them to your system. You get complete control over sample text and can easily tweak font sizes with a simple slider.
