FocussedModePlus is designed to help you beat distractions, and let’s be honest, distractions are everywhere these days. With all the cool things technology brings us, it can also pull us away from what we really need to do.

How FocussedModePlus Works

This app is especially helpful for those on the autism spectrum. It helps by creating a "layer of focus" that shows only part of your screen. This way, you can block out all those annoying notifications and flashy ads that pop up and distract you.

The Simple Solution

The program offers a pretty straightforward fix to our distraction-filled computer lives. You might find it effective! But a quick tip: check out the hotkeys before starting up the app so you know how to use it right away.

Hotkeys Can Be Tricky

Here’s something important—there's no menu or guide in the app to show you what hotkeys are available. So if you're not familiar with them, it might leave you scratching your head when you first open it. Once you launch the app, you'll notice that only a small section of your screen shows up within four white borders while everything else goes dark.

Customizing Your Focus Area

You can change this focus area a bit! Use the < and > keys to adjust its height and – and = keys for width. The cool part? The focus area moves with your cursor! So make it fit whatever works for you.

Troubleshooting Hotkeys

A little hiccup I faced was that sometimes those hotkeys just wouldn’t work at all. A quick restart usually fixed things but keep this in mind if you're running multiple monitors too! Sometimes using another monitor would stop me from resizing my focus area.

Multi-Monitor Setup Limitations

If you're using more than one monitor, be aware that only your main screen will get the focus treatment. Other screens will just keep showing their usual content, which means it's not exactly foolproof when trying to create a distraction-free zone across all displays.

Room for Improvement

All in all, FocussedModePlus is a solid shot at giving us a distraction-free desktop setup. But there’s definitely some room for improvement here! Adding info about hotkeys inside the app would be super helpful, along with fixing some bugs to really polish off this tool.
