Flush is a handy tool for managing Flash cookies, also known as Local Shared Objects (LSOs). If you haven’t heard of them before, don’t worry! They work a bit like regular browser cookies but are stored outside your browser. This means you can’t just delete them from Safari, Firefox, Opera, or any other browser you’re using.
Flash cookies usually come from websites that have Adobe Flash content. It’s not uncommon to encounter them while browsing different sites. Since they’re not tied to your browser directly, it can be tricky to get rid of them.
If you're on Mac OS X, these pesky cookies are stored in this location: /User’s Home Folder/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#SharedObjects. If you're looking for the settings related to these Flash cookies, you'll find them here: /User’s Home Folder/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/macromedia.com/support/flashplayer/sys.
In OS X, Local Shared Objects have a .sol suffix. That’s just how they are named. But don't worry! With Flush, you can easily delete those annoying Flash cookies (.sol) along with their settings.
If you want to keep your computer clean and free of unwanted files, using Flush is a smart move! It helps ensure that those hidden flash cookies don’t take up space or track your online activities.
