Fluenz Mandarin is an awesome tool created by a small team on a mission to help you speak Chinese fast! After trying out other language programs and even studying in China, we made this software to be exactly what we wished we had when learning Mandarin.

The Personal Touch

What makes Fluenz special? At the heart of it all is Sonia Gil, a real-life instructor who went to China to learn Mandarin herself. She’s got over 150 video clips sprinkled throughout the program, making your learning experience feel more personal and engaging.

Learning Principles That Work

We learned that having one-on-one coaching really helps when you’re trying to pick up a new language. Our program sticks to three main ideas:

• Start with English: First off, you need to learn in English. This way, you can relate basic Chinese grammar and structure back to what you already know instead of getting lost in Mandarin logic.


• Focus on Useful Words: It's important to pick up words and phrases that let you communicate quickly. For example, “cell phone” is way more useful than “horse.” It’s about using the easiest and most relevant vocabulary!


• Practice Makes Perfect: You’ve got to work on internalizing what you learn so it sticks with you. Since many Mandarin words look similar, we provide over 15 different types of workouts that mix speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

A Unique Learning Experience

Unlike most online learning tools out there, we put tons of effort into making Fluenz as immersive as possible. We use cool multimedia designs with images, music, videos, and Flash animations that keep you motivated while learning!

Diverse Exercises for Engagement

You’ll find dynamic Flash conversations that place Mandarin in real-life situations along with thirteen different kinds of exercises for variety in your studies. This keeps things fresh and fun!

Your Setup Requirements

If you're wondering what you'll need to run Fluenz smoothly:

• A DVD-ROM drive


• A G4 1.3 MHz or higher (Mac) or Pentium 4 or higher (Windows)


• You should have OS X 10.3 or above for Mac or Windows 2000/XP for PC users.


• The screen resolution should be at least 1024 x 768.


• A video card is necessary as well as a 16-bit sound card.
