Description
Flash Video & Game Recorder
Grabbing Flash content from various websites such as video is an activity that can be carried out quite easily with the right tool. Flash Video & Game Recorder promises great results with minimum effort from the user.
Installing the application should not pose any trouble and includes a FLV player that can be used to watch the Flash content. You can opt out of its installation if you wish to use your own alternative, though.
Immediately after installation it takes its place in the system tray and starts monitoring web browsing, regardless of the browser used for the job. By default, notifications pop up informing of the recording activity; this can be disabled from the interface.
The application window lacks any sort of complexity as there is no configuration to be done except for selecting the folder to store the recorded files.
The largest part of the screen is occupied by the entries monitored for Flash content, which are accompanied by details such as the name of the file (given by the program) and the date of the recording as well as the full URL address containing the item and its size in KB.
Because there is no configuration available Flash Video & Game Recorder grabs almost all Flash content it detects in a loaded web page.
During our tests the application could not detect and grab the desired content but it managed to retrieve plenty of the advertising banners displayed on the page as well as other Flash elements.
Flash Video & Game Recorder hasn't received an update for a long time and the way media content is served to the user has changed quite a lot, with new standards being implemented.
