What is File Security Manager?
File Security Manager
File Security Manager is a super handy tool that lets you view, change, and set permissions for your files and folders. You can easily assign or change access rights, create shared folders, and even take ownership of files or folders. This is especially useful if you're using Windows XP Home edition, which usually doesn’t allow you to turn off simple file sharing or access the Security tab in Windows Explorer.
Advanced Access Control
This software offers some cool advanced access control features. What does this mean? Well, it allows you to give different access permissions to various users for specific files and folders—both local and network users. For example, one user might be able to read a file but not write to it!
Easy File Management
With File Security Manager, you can allow or deny access to file system objects and shares. You can also lock or unlock files, folders, or even an entire drive using the built-in Windows NTFS security features. It integrates right into Windows Explorer, making it quick and easy to set permissions for your files and folders.
User-Friendly Options
If you prefer a simpler approach, there’s a Security Wizard that provides helpful presets for setting up permissions. Plus, this software has great features like Secure File Deletion—you can delete files so they can't be restored—and an Advanced File Attributes Editor that allows you to set any attributes that aren’t usually available in Explorer.
A Versatile File Manager
While you’re managing security tasks with File Security Manager, it also works as a fast and simple file manager. You can copy or move files and folders easily without any hassle!
