Description
Fenix Browser
Going for a ride on the information superhighway requires an application that can take you there. Fenix Browser is one of them and plans to offer something visually different than its competitors.
Technical Specifications:
- Price: FREE
- Publisher: Omar Sawas
- File: /home/rsyncd/mnt/root/softpedia/Downloads/Windows Apps/Internet/F/Fenix browser/fenixbrowserb1en.exe
Features:
- Multiple tabs support
- Lock/Unlock feature to prevent accidental changes
- Limited to six tabs
When running the application your first intention might be to switch to a maximized view, because most of the main window is taken up by buttons and other elements. Unfortunately, it is impossible to do so, and neither can you stretch it to get a little more space.
In the section where the web page is displayed are several shortcuts to some of the most commonly accessed pages. This is useful but taking into consideration their size, it makes them become more of a nuisance because of the amount of precious space they occupy.
The same can be said about the upper part, where the search field is bigger than necessary. There is no implemented option that lets you adjust size, making the application overall a little difficult to work with.
What slightly balances the scale in its favor is probably that multiple tabs can be used, but you are limited to only six. Moreover, the page name is not displayed in the tab, so if you fill them up with important pages, you either need to remember where each is opened or browse until you stumble upon it.
Amongst other buttons found in the main window is "Lock/Unlock", which prevents content from accidentally being changed. This is the most helpful feature, considering that when working with multiple tabs, clicking on a shortcut opens up the specific page in all tabs.
To sum it up, Fenix Browser struggles to bring something at least visually different, but does so in vain. The space in which pages are displayed is not only too small but is not adjustable, making you scroll for every inch of content you want to view.
