What is Fenice FOR LINUX?
Fenice
Fenice is an awesome multimedia streaming server that follows IETF standards for streaming all kinds of media content over the Internet. It uses RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) and RTP/RTCP (Real-Time Transport Protocol/RTP Control Protocol). This means it can handle audio and video conferences really well.
Supported Encoding Standards
When it comes to audio and video, Fenice has got you covered with some popular encoding standards:
Audio
- MP3 (MPEG-1 Layer III)
- OGG/Vorbis (still a work in progress)
Video
- MPEG-1/2
- MPEG-4 (preliminary support)
- OGG/Theora (also a work in progress)
Main Features of Fenice
The coolest thing about Fenice is how it adapts based on network conditions. Thanks to dynamic coding change, you get a smoother streaming experience!
Live Streaming Capabilities
If you're into live streaming, Fenice can handle that too! It works with external real-time audio/video encoders like lame, ffmpeg, or mjpeg-tools. Plus, it can capture streams from live-recording remote hosts using Felice - Fenice Live CEaseless.
A Unique Advantage
Fenice is also the first-ever streaming server to support Creative Commons licensing meta-data for audio and video streaming.
