FBReader is a super handy, free e-book reader that works on your Mac. It's got some neat features like automatic hyphenation and a full-screen mode that makes reading a breeze!

Supported E-book Formats

This software supports a bunch of formats, which is great for all kinds of e-books. Here's what you can read with FBReader:

• fb2 e-book format (style attributes aren't supported just yet)


• HTML format (but no tables here)


• CHM format (sorry, no tables again)


• Plucker format (yep, no tables)


• Palmdoc (also known as aportis doc)


• zTxt (this one's from Weasel format)


• TCR (psion text) format


• RTF format (no stylesheets or tables though)


• OEB format (css and tables are not supported)


• OpenReader format (again, no css or tables)


• Non-DRM mobipocket format (no tables supported)


• Plain text format

E-books in Archives

You can also use FBReader to read e-books that are zipped up in tar, zip, gzip, or bzip2 archives. That means if you've got multiple books in one archive, you're good to go!
