Farpass is a small and handy software tool designed to help you recover lost or forgotten passwords saved in your web browsers. It works with popular browsers like Google Chrome, Comodo Dragon, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer 9.
What’s cool about Farpass is that it doesn’t need to be installed like most software. You can just save its files anywhere on your computer and click the executable file to get started. If you want, you can even keep it on a USB flash drive, so you can run it on any computer without a hassle. Plus, it won’t mess with your Windows registry.
When you open Farpass, it automatically finds all the passwords saved in your web browsers and displays them in a neat list. The main window is easy to navigate, so you can quickly check out your information.
The details shown include the URL, application name, username, and password for each account where you've asked the browser to remember your login info. It’s super handy!
You can pick one or more entries from the list to copy data directly to your clipboard by right-clicking. This lets you copy just the URL, username, or password easily! You can also open links in your browser or export data for further analysis. If you make changes in your browsers later, no worries—you can refresh the contents too.
I found that Farpass loads password details pretty quickly without causing my computer to freeze or crash. It runs smoothly without hogging system resources—using low CPU and RAM.
The downside? It doesn’t support every browser out there like Opera, Safari, or newer versions of Internet Explorer. Also, keep in mind that this tool hasn’t had an update in quite some time.
If you're looking for a simple way to manage your passwords from supported browsers, definitely consider checking out Farpass!
