ExeShield Deluxe is a handy security tool designed to keep your executable files (you know, the ones with the EXE format) safe from hackers and crackers. It's all about protecting what you've created!
The interface is pretty straightforward, featuring a small window that doesn't overwhelm you. To open a file, you just use the file browser since there's no drag-and-drop option. Also, heads up—you can only secure one file at a time. So if you've got multiple files to protect, you'll need to do them one by one.
Once you're set up, you can check out the Cyclic Redundancy Check of your file (that's CRC32 for short). You also get to choose your compression method from options like Pepack 1.0, Polyene 0.01, UPX 1.25, and UPX 2.02 before diving into the encryption process. Plus, you can save your file in ExeShield format (CPL) if you want to tweak it later.
If you switch over to ExeShield Cryptor mode, there's even more cool stuff available for encrypting your files! This includes anti-cracker features like anti-dumping and beta security options like clearing PE headers and detecting debuggers. You also get general security settings such as API redirects and CRC checks.
The best part? ExeShield Deluxe doesn't hog your CPU or system memory at all! This means it won't mess with other stuff running on your computer while you work. During our tests, it ran smoothly—no hangs or crashes—so that's a plus! It even supports multiple languages to cater to everyone.
However, it's worth mentioning that there haven't been any updates lately for this tool. Even though it's easy enough for experienced users to set up without hassle, it does lean more toward power users who really know what they're doing.
