eul is a handy app that helps you keep tabs on your Mac's hardware. If you've ever tried to monitor your Mac's performance, you know Apple doesn't give us many tools for that. But don't worry! There are plenty of third-party apps out there, and eul is one of the best.
This open-source app is built with Swift and does a great job tracking important stuff like CPU, GPU, Memory, Battery, plus any connected Bluetooth devices and disk usage. It sits in your menu bar, making it super easy to check things at a glance. Oh, and it's customizable too! Just keep in mind that it doesn’t fully support M1 Macs yet.
The first time you launch eul, your menu bar will light up with new info. By default, it includes several trackers that help you monitor your system. If some of them aren’t useful for you, feel free to turn them off! You can adjust how often the data refreshes too; options are 1, 3, or 5 seconds.
The font size might seem small at first glance. But if you focus on just one parameter for each component you're monitoring, it becomes easier to read! There's also a “single line” text display option that uses larger fonts for all readings.
Most folks only want to watch one or two things—like CPU temperature or network usage. You can pick which components appear in the menu bar and what exactly you want to track for each of them.
If you click on the icon in the menu bar, you'll see a list of all the data collected by eul. Not interested in certain components? No problem—you can remove them from this view too! Plus, there are widgets available that let you monitor CPU usage, RAM status, network activity, and battery level.
Even though you're focusing on just one parameter might seem limiting; knowing your CPU temperature is crucial because it's hard to find otherwise. This feature works well on Intel Macs but isn't ready for M1 devices just yet.
Overall, eul is an impressive tool for monitoring your Mac’s hardware. It's efficient thanks to being written in SwiftUI and offers plenty of customization options. We just need full support for M1 Macs to make it a top choice among users!
