Description

Generating and comparing checksums is the proper way to verify a file’s integrity and check whether the data has been tampered with.

Providing support for some of the most popular hash codes, EasyHash delivers a quick and simple means of generating checksum data for both files and texts.

There is no need to install the application, as it is launched as soon as you double-click on the main executable. The main window features three different tabs and is quite intuitive so that any kind of user can work with the application.

The list of compatible hash algorithms is displayed in the first tab, which allows you to select the ones you need generated. There are both 32-bit and 64-bit hash algorithms, each having their specification and reference displayed in the description. Some of the most widely used algorithms are supported, including CRC-32, MD5, SHA-1 to SHA-512 and so on.

Moving on to the second tab, you will find out that EasyHash can calculate checksums for one or more files in a single operation. You must add individual files or folders to the input list using the classic method or drag and drop from Windows Explorer.

The hash codes, one or more, depending on the selection you made in the first tab, are generated in the lower side panel for each file. All the text here can be easily copied to the Windows clipboard.

Hashing texts is also possible with EasyHash. There is an input field where you can type in or paste the text you want to hash, while the hash codes are displayed in the lower side panel. Again, EasyHash generates the codes you selected in the first tab.

EasyHash is a handy tool to have around if you need to check the integrity of one or more files. Unfortunately, it does not feature a hash comparison tool, which would definitely add to its value, nor it comes with shell integration to allow a quicker hash verification for files on the local PC.

Even so, the range of hash algorithms it can calculate and its support for batch operations make it worth your while, especially since it comes with an open-source license.
