DWSIM is an open source and cross-platform chemical process simulator for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux.
Built for the Microsoft .NET 2.0 and Mono Platforms and featuring a rich Graphical User Interface (GUI), DWSIM allows chemical engineering students and chemical engineers to better understand the behavior of their chemical systems by using rigorous thermodynamic and unit operations' models with no cost at all.
Even better, they can see how the calculations are actually being done - DWSIM is open source, that is, its code is available to anyone who wishes to discover the "magic" behind it or just do some code browsing.
USAGE: To run DWSIM Mono Edition, unpack the contents of the ZIP file to a folder of your choice. Then, open a terminal (console) window (from /Applications/Utilities), point it to the folder which contains the DWSIM executable and execute the following command:
mono DWSIM.exe
