DocScanner is a super easy-to-use macOS app that helps you get rid of paper in your office by turning all your documents into digital files. If you're looking to go paperless, this could be just the tool for you!
With DocScanner, converting a document to PDF is a breeze. All you have to do is drag and drop your file onto its dock icon, and it will automatically turn it into a PDF. The cool part? It uses your Mac’s graphics card, which means it can work pretty quickly even if you're using an older Mac with basic specs.
Once you’ve digitized your papers, managing them is super simple. DocScanner integrates with Evernote, which means if you create an Evernote account, you’ll have a searchable database of all your documents right in one spot!
The great thing about DocScanner is that it works with any digital camera or webcam. For the best results, though, consider using a DSLR camera. That way, you can really take advantage of the app's ability to provide better results when working with high-quality images.
This app also has a solid OCR engine that supports 13 different languages! This feature makes it easy to extract text from any of your scanned documents with just a few clicks.
However, there are some downsides. DocScanner doesn’t have tools for easily importing snapshots from flatbed scanners or downloading directly from cameras using Image Capture. Also, there's no batch editing feature available. This means you'll need to rotate pages or extract text one page at a time.
All in all, while DocScanner might not meet every expectation for going paperless, it's still worth trying out! You might find that it fits perfectly into your workflow.
