Some Apple computers do not come with CD writing drives which means that you must use other devices to burn your data on CDs. dmg2iso is a very easy to use droplet application that allows you to convert dmg images into iso: this way you can send them to your Windows or Linux computer and burn them to disk in no time.

dmg2iso is released under GNU General Public License but keep in mind that the developer does not provide any warranty. Make sure your data is always backed up in case the application malfunctions.

Since dmg2iso is an AppleScript droplet, launching the application has no effect. To use it, you must drag and drop a dmg image on top of its icon. dmg2iso will automatically start the conversion process, first generating a .cdr file which later gets renamed to the final .iso file.

dmg2iso will use the name of the source dmg for the output file and it will place the converted archive in the same folder. The app is able to process large dmg images in a short time period and the output iso files might end up significantly bigger.

The dmg2iso icon will be added to your Dock when the conversion process starts and automatically disappears when the transformation is over: this is how you know the .iso archive is complete.

dmg2iso is designed to be a wrapper application for the hdiutil shell command. The dmg2iso app is actually triggering the following command:  hdiutil convert /path/to/infile -format UDTO -o /path/to/outfile .
