Diskmon is a lightweight and user-friendly application designed to capture and display all hard disk activities. Since the tool is portable, it means that users do not have to install it, but rather decompress the archive in the desired location and run.

The events can be timed for their duration in milliseconds or time-stamped when they were initiated. The tool allows for limitless event capture, but users can specify a maximum value if necessary. It is essential to note that the tool cannot see requests originating from attached hard disk objects as they make the requests directly from the file system via IRPs directly.
