DiscordChroma is a cool tool for anyone using Razer Chroma products who wants to connect them with Discord. Basically, it makes your Razer Chroma lights respond to events happening on Discord. So, when you get a message or a notification, your lights can light up! But hey, since it's still in the works, don't expect everything to run perfectly just yet.
To use DiscordChroma, you first need to have Discord installed on your device. Once that's done, you'll have to enter your client ID and secret key in the app. It does offer a quick link for finding your user ID, but fair warning—the link can be tricky and may not always work. To make things easier, head over to the Developer console, create a new app there, and copy the ID and secret token from that app.
You also need to go to this link so that everything works smoothly. I know it sounds like a lot of steps, but once you're set up, it’s worth it!
The reason behind all this setup is that DiscordChroma uses an RPC API that’s currently on a whitelist only. This means it's not open for everyone just yet.
Right now, the app can trigger Chroma lighting whenever you receive notifications from Discord. The developer has mentioned that more animations will be added in future updates—how exciting is that? Once you have it running, you probably won’t even notice it's there because Chroma will operate based on what you've set up in your profiles.
