What is DigiPan?

DigiPan

DigiPan is a cool tool made just for amateur radio operators. It's all about helping you chat using PSK31 and PSK63 modes in real-time with other stations worldwide. The name stands for 'Digital Panoramic Tuning,' and it does a great job of decoding radio signals right within your receiver's range. Plus, it gives you a simple visual display of all the QSOs!

Getting Started with DigiPan

Setting up DigiPan isn’t too tricky, especially if you've used similar software before. But fair warning: you’ll need to know some technical terms to really get the hang of it! When you first open the app, it’ll ask for some personal info like your call sign, name, and QTH (that’s your location).

Multiple Channel Support

This software can handle dual and multi-channel reception! You can even set it up to use a microphone instead of your computer's sound card to pick up Single Sideband signals. And remember, it supports both PSK31 and PSK63 modes—PSK63 is great for those quick typists out there.

Visual Features

One awesome feature is its waterfall frequency spectrum display that shows text chats from lots of stations. This means you can keep an eye on messages sent and received within the limits of what your transceiver can handle.

User-Friendly Controls

If you click on one of the vertical lines in the spectrum, you’ll see related text pop up in the main window! Plus, there are customizable shortcut keys for easier control.

Easier Identification

CQ calls are highlighted so they're easy to spot, and any text sent gets underlined for clarity. It even supports PACTOR RX signals and lets you adjust sample rates as needed. Everything gets automatically decoded by DigiPan, showing updated call signs and conversations right away!
