Description
Diff Viewer
Diff Viewer is a handy tool that lets you compare text documents side by side. It's built on Java, so as long as you have Java installed on your computer, you're good to go! You can save the executable JAR file anywhere you want, even on a USB drive, which means you can use it on different computers without any hassle.
Easy Setup with No Fuss
No need for complicated setups! Just drop the JAR file where you like and launch it. It won't mess with your Windows registry or create extra files. When it's time to uninstall, all you need to do is delete the file. Easy peasy!
User-Friendly Interface
The interface of Diff Viewer is pretty straightforward. You'll see a single window with two vertical panes where you can type or paste your texts. The lines are compared in real time, and they're numbered for easy tracking.
Color Codes Can Be Confusing
One thing to note is that the color codes might not make much sense at first. If two lines are identical, they stay white, but different lines get highlighted in blue. Sometimes new lines show up in red or green, which can be a little puzzling.
Performance Is Solid
When we tested it out, Diff Viewer didn't slow down our system at all! It used very little CPU and RAM. There were no error messages popping up or crashes during use.
Limited Options but Free to Use
That said, it does have a pretty basic set of features and doesn't allow for much customization. Plus, it hasn't been updated in quite some time. But hey, if you're looking for something simple and free for non-commercial use, why not give it a shot? You can check out more details on how to download Diff Viewer here!
