How to Upload Files

Once you log into the Desktop Media Uploader with an Umbraco user account that has the right permissions, you can just drag and drop the media files you want to upload. It’s as simple as that!

User Privileges Matter

The neat part is that Desktop Media Uploader respects user privileges. This means you'll only be able to upload files to folders you're allowed in. If a file is too big—bigger than what your server allows—the uploader will stop it from being uploaded at all. No more failed attempts!

Getting Your Files on the Site

After you've added all your files to the queue, just hit the Upload button, and voila! Your media files will start making their way onto your website.

A Quick Setup Tip

If you're using anything other than IIS7 for hosting, remember you’ll have to set up a mime type manually for the “.air” extension. Just map it to "application/vnd.adobe.air-application-installer-package+zip" so you can download the Desktop Media Uploader app without any hiccups.
