What is DesignDoll?

The name pretty much sums it up! This program is like a digital version of those wooden mannequins artists often use to study poses. With DesignDoll, you get a little doll that you can move around however you want to get a good look at different body shapes and poses.

Moving the Doll

Once you get the hang of it, moving the doll is super easy. Each joint has its own controls, so if you want to adjust a specific part of the body, just click in the right spot. If it doesn’t move quite how you imagined, don’t worry! Just select another part nearby and give it another go.

Using Body Part Controls

If you want to focus on one part of the doll’s body, there’s a handy diagram on the right side of your screen. It shows a simple figure with all the main parts labeled—like the head, hands, shirt, shorts, and shoes. Each icon clearly represents what part it controls!

Making It Realistic

You can also toggle some cool options to make your model more lifelike! For instance, if you turn on shoulder linking, it automatically adjusts the shoulders when you move the arms and hands. There’s even an “Auto Foot Correction” feature that makes sure the feet align perfectly with where the legs and ground are positioned.
