Dato is a cool little app that brings a handy calendar right to your Mac! When I switched from Windows to macOS, I really missed that easy calendar you could just click on. On a Mac, you usually have to open the Calendar app just to check a date or event. But with Dato, it’s way easier.
Setting up Dato is super simple. After you install it, just hold the ⌘ key and drag the Dato icon next to your built-in clock. Once you do that, feel free to turn off the system clock because Dato looks just like it but works even better!
If you want, Dato can also show just a small icon in your menu bar. This way, you can keep using the default system clock while enjoying all the awesome features of Dato's calendar.
You might be wondering how it looks? Well, you can check out some screenshots online! It comes with both dark and light themes that sync with your Mac's theme. Plus, you can customize almost everything about it!
For example, Dato lets you show the current time in different formats. You can also choose whether or not to display the date and week number in either the drop-down menu or menu bar.
You'd think a calendar app would help manage events too, right? You're in luck! Dato shows upcoming events right below its calendar. Just double-click any date and boom—you’re in your default Calendar app!
Dato makes checking time zones super easy as well! You can add multiple time zones and they’ll all appear right under your event reminders.
This little app is proof that some things should just be included in every operating system. It’s super helpful and really easy to use! With Dato, keeping track of dates and events becomes a breeze. If you're ready to download this handy tool, check it out here.
