What is CryptoUP?

CryptoUP

CryptoUP is a handy program that helps you encrypt all kinds of files using strong algorithms. Plus, it lets you decode those documents later on. To get started, you just need to create a key with at least 6 characters. If you want, you can also use a key file or even a one-time pad for extra security.

Easy File Encryption

With CryptoUP, encryption is super simple! You just have to enter your key, pick the file you want to encrypt, and choose a name for the output file. Once your files are encoded, they can't be opened without decrypting them first using your original key.

Select Your Security Level

You can also adjust the level of encryption by clicking the ‘Swift’ button until you find what works for you. There’s an info bar at the bottom that shows how secure and fast each option is: reasonable security (fast), good security (medium), or top security (slow).

Multiple Encryption Methods

CryptoUP offers different ways to encrypt your files. For instance, one method breaks a file into groups of 5 characters and applies encryption or decoding to each group separately. Another option uses Base 64 encoding rules for added versatility.

The One Time Pad Method

The OTP method (One Time Pad) means creating a list of keys where each one is used just once and then tossed away. You will need to keep track of which key has been used already when decoding your files. You can even change settings for your computer's Floating Point Unit (FPU) from the dedicated menu.

Tools Included in CryptoUP

CryptoUP comes packed with useful tools! It includes options for calculating the 160-bit hash and creating reports about character frequency in any selected file. The program bundle also features FindSR, a tool that analyzes encrypted files, along with Prime—a command line tool that computes prime numbers up to any value you specify.
