What is CronJob?

CronJob Delphi Component

CronJob Delphi is a cool tool designed for Delphi and BCB users. It's all about creating alarms that work like the cronjob utility you find in Unix. Pretty neat, right?

How Does It Work?

This component generates OnAlert events based on a schedule you set using CRON format. And here's something even cooler: it uses an extended CRON format that includes a new 'seconds' field. This means you can trigger events every second if you want!

Bonus Components Included

The package comes with two extra components:

  • AccurateTimer: This is a thread-based timer that fires OnTimer events at your specified interval. Unlike the standard TTimer, which can mess up when your app gets really busy, AccurateTimer runs in its own thread. So, it always triggers exactly when it should! Plus, you can set higher precision intervals (less than 55ms!), which is great since Win9x has some limits.

  • AwayTimer: This component keeps track of user activity. It increases its timer counter when there’s no keyboard or mouse movement (like when you're taking a break). It also triggers special events before the screensaver kicks in or after you've been inactive for a while.

Limitations to Keep in Mind

You can give CronJob Delphi a spin for free! But if you enjoy it and want to keep using it, you'll need to register with the author.

Requirements

This tool works with Delphi versions 2 through 2005 and BCB versions 1 through 6.
