What is Color Picker Plugin for Notepad++?
Color Picker Plugin for Notepad++
Color Picker Plugin for Notepad++ is a handy tool designed just for programmers and web developers. It's a lightweight plugin that helps you insert colors right into your source code without needing any extra apps. Plus, it’s part of the awesome Notepad++ Plugins collection.
Supported Languages and Color Codes
This plugin supports various coding languages like HTML, Delphi, C++, Visual Basic, and even RGB color codes! It also works with integer formats. You get two types of color palettes and a neat table to help you see how colors are named and what their codes are in Delphi.
Easy Setup Process
Setting up the Color Picker Plugin is a breeze! No need for third-party software like .NET Framework. Just download the archive, extract the DLL file, and drop it into the 'plugins' folder where you keep your Notepad++. It works perfectly whether you're using an installer or a portable version of Notepad++.
Accessing the Plugin
Once you start up Notepad++ (you might need to restart if it was already open), you can find Color Picker in the 'Plugins' menu. How easy is that?
User-Friendly Interface
The main window lets you click and drag three sliders to adjust red, green, and blue values to find out color codes or set numerical RGB values. You can choose from several string forms like HTML, Delphi, C++, Visual Basic, integer, or RGB (triple).
Inverting Colors & Choosing Dialogs
If you're curious about different shades, there’s even a button to invert the current color while previewing it as you slide! You can pick from two types of color dialogs—one is the classic Windows dialog showing basic colors with custom options; the other shows hexadecimal codes for selected colors.
Inserting Color Codes Made Easy
Once you've found your perfect shade and hit “Ok,” Color Picker will insert that color code right where your cursor is in your source code. You’ll also have access to a table displaying color previews along with their values and meanings in Delphi.
A Few Limitations
While this plugin does its job well as a color picker, we were hoping for more features—like picking any color from your screen using your mouse instead of just choosing from palettes. And wouldn’t it be cool if it could convert between different string forms? Unfortunately, it can’t be embedded directly into Notepad++, which means you'll have to toggle back and forth between windows when working on your text documents.
How Download Works
Go to the Softpas website, press the 'Downloads' button, and pick the app you want to download and install—easy and fast!
