Cisco CDP Monitor is a user-friendly program that helps you keep an eye on and diagnose your networks. It's perfect for network administrators and engineers who want to stay on top of things.
The layout of this application is straightforward, making it easy to navigate. You can see important details like the ID, type, port ID, CDP IP address, software version, platform info, native VLAN status, TTL (Time To Live), and VTP management domain (VLAN Trunking Protocol) for each device connected to your network.
If you need to tidy up your connections, just open the context menu. Here, you can delete a selected neighbor or clear out all of them if needed. Plus, at the bottom of the screen, you'll find event details like type, date, and time.
One cool feature is that you can export the CDP list to a file for deeper analysis later on. Cisco CDP Monitor also offers various setup options related to the CDP NIC and data—like hello and held timer settings, device ID info, platform specifics, OS version details and more!
This app doesn’t hog CPU or memory resources; it’s light on your system’s performance. It responds quickly and supports keyboard shortcuts too! During our tests, we didn’t run into any errors—Cisco CDP Monitor stayed stable without freezing or crashing.
However, there’s one downside: there’s no help file available. This software is mainly aimed at users who already have some experience with network protocols.
