CharAnalysis is a free and open-sourc application to analyze sediment-charcoal records when the goal is peak detection to reconstruct "local" fire history.
The diagnostic tools will help you determine if the peak detection is warranted and what parameters are most reasonable if the case may be. The analytical tools help summarize results statistically and graphically.
CharAnalysis is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
