How to Encrypt Your Files

Now about those mash types: the higher the number you choose, the stronger your encryption will be! Methods A and B keep your new file the same size as the original. But if you go with Blowfish, it’ll make your file bigger.

Decrypting Your Files

When it's time to decrypt a file, just select the encrypted one and pick where you want to save the newly decrypted version. You'll also need to set everything right for key options, mash type, and method.

Keep Track of File Extensions!

Oh! And don’t forget about the original file's extension because after encryption, you'll end up with an unknown extension. Unfortunately, Chaos Mash doesn’t track formats when decrypting.

No Setup Needed!

The whole tool comes in one executable file! This means you can save it anywhere on your disk or even on a USB flash drive so that you can run it on any PC without needing to install anything. Plus, there are no DLLs or other components needed!
