How Caffeine Works

When you launch Caffeine, it adds a tiny icon to your status bar. Just click on it, and you can easily activate its features. You can also set how long you want Caffeine to keep your Mac awake by going into the Preferences window. Your choices include indefinite, or periods of 5, 10, 15, or even 30 minutes, plus 1, 2, or 5 hours.

If you'd like to pick a specific time period manually, just right-click on the Caffeine icon in the status bar and choose what works for you from the list. There are also some cool customization options! You can make Caffeine start up when you log in or when you turn on your Mac.
