Buffet is a handy tool for macOS users who juggle multiple web browsers. If you often find yourself sticking to just your default browser or wasting time opening new tabs, Buffet is here to help!
When you first open the Buffet app, it will ask if you want to set it as your default web browser. But here’s the catch: it won’t open links in its own window. Instead, it sends those links straight to whatever browser you've chosen.
If you make Buffet your main web browser, any links you click in documents, emails, or other apps will run through the Buffet selector. This means you'll have more control over where those links go!
Before diving in, head to the Preferences window via the status bar menu in Buffet. It’ll scan your Mac for all the browsers you have installed and show them in this window.
If there’s a specific browser you want to include in your options, just check its box in the Preferences window. No need to add every single one; feel free to pick and choose which browsers appear!
Once everything’s set up, clicking on a link that usually goes straight to your default browser will trigger Buffet's selector panel. This panel looks similar to the macOS app chooser that pops up when you hit Command + Tab.
The Buffet selector shows you both the URL you're about to open and a list of available browsers. Just a heads up: you'll need to use your mouse for this part since keyboard navigation isn’t an option.
If you're ready for a smoother browsing experience with multiple options at your fingertips, check out Buffet here!
