Brutus

Brutus is an Open Source connector designed for Microsoft Exchange versions 5.5, 2000, and 2003. In simpler terms, it's here to help tackle one of the biggest headaches that people in the Open Source community have faced for nearly a decade.

Why Brutus Matters

The main issue we're solving is how to access Microsoft Exchange from version 5.5 onward without being tied to a specific platform. This means you can use it on Linux, Windows, BSDs, or pretty much any other system!

A Better Outlook Alternative

With Brutus, you'll get a replacement for Microsoft Outlook that works just as well across different platforms. We've built this using a CORBA-based framework on top of the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI), which lets client applications connect easily.

MAPI Access Made Easy

This framework gives your applications MAPI-based access to any MS Exchange server, starting from version 5.5 and up. We believe this approach offers something truly valuable for the Open Source community.

Licensing Options

You can use our solution under the GNU General Public License (GPL) or choose a commercial license if that's more your style. We see a real need for non-Microsoft clients that fully integrate with Exchange and match Microsoft Outlook's features.

The best way to achieve smooth integration is by building this client access framework on MAPI. That's why we are offering it free of charge under the GPL for everyone in the Open Source world and commercially available for businesses.
