BrowseShot is a handy app that helps you capture screenshots on your Mac. One of the great things about OS X is that it already has a built-in screenshot tool. You can easily snap pictures of your whole screen or just parts of it. But if you need to take full-length website screenshots, that’s where BrowseShot comes in!
Using BrowseShot is super simple. Just type in the URL of the website you want to capture into the app's address bar. Hit Enter, or click the green triangle button, and voila! The website will load just like it does in your regular browser.
Once the website is up, all you need to do is click on the camera icon located at the top right corner of BrowseShot’s window. Choose where you want to save your screenshot on your Mac, and boom—you’ve got a full-length image of that webpage!
Your captured image will be saved as a PNG file, which works well with most image viewers. However, keep in mind that right now, BrowseShot doesn’t support capturing websites using Java or Flash plugins.
You can only take snapshots of one website at a time. If you open another site, it will replace what you're currently viewing since BrowseShot doesn’t support tab browsing.
A little downside? If a site has its scrolling feature turned off—like Gmail—you won’t be able to save its image using BrowseShot.
If we could change one thing about BrowseShot, it would be nice to have more output formats available. Maybe options like PSD for easy editing or JPEG for smaller files would make it even better!
Despite its few limitations, BrowseShot really shines when you need to see an entire website at once. We’re excited to see how this app improves over time—it definitely has potential!
