What’s New with Bitwarden?

Bitwarden just launched its desktop client after being available only as a browser extension and web app for quite a while. This desktop version brings all the great features of the web app right to your local computer.

Getting Started

If you're already using Bitwarden, you can easily log into the desktop app with your existing account info and sync everything up! If you're new to it, don’t worry—you can create an account directly in the app without having to go to the Bitwarden website.

User-Friendly Interface

The main window is designed smartly, split into three panels. The first panel lets you browse through all your vault items, check out your Favorites, and manage folders to keep things neat and tidy.

Your Secure Vault

With Bitwarden’s vault, you can store login details for any site—usernames and passwords—as well as sensitive info like credit card details and private notes that you'd prefer to keep hidden from prying eyes. You can even add attachments and custom fields to each item!

Password Generator Feature

While Bitwarden is a solid password manager, it doesn’t really change much compared to its web version. One cool addition is the password generator, which lets you create strong passwords quickly and easily! However, there are some features from the web app that aren’t included in the desktop version—like data collections, importing/exporting options, session management, vault purging, or deleting your account.
