Description
Biometric Fingerprint Reader
Biometric Fingerprint Reader is a really cool software that acts like a FileMaker plugin. What it does is pretty neat – it helps you keep important documents safe by using someone’s fingerprint as their password.
How It Works
To get started with this software, you need to have FileMaker installed on your computer, along with a compatible biometric device. This device will help create the first fingerprint entry and check future access attempts.
Enrolling Fingerprints
When you add someone’s fingerprint into the system, it's called 'Enrolling'. You can register any or all of their fingers, but it’s best to use the index finger. However, when adding a new user for the first time, it's a good idea to enroll all ten fingers. This makes it easier later on if you need to add more fingers and adds an extra layer of security.
The Enrollment Process
To enroll a fingerprint, start by typing in the employee's name (just keep it under 15 characters). After that, click on the finger you want to enroll in the main screen of Biometric Fingerprint Reader. For each finger, you'll need to scan four times to ensure that the print is accurate.
Verifying Identity
Once everything is set up, when someone needs to verify who they are, they just place the enrolled finger on the reading device. The app analyzes their fingerprint and lets them access the files they need!
Add More Features
This software also lets you manage what level of access each employee has. You can even clock them in or out directly from FileMaker.
Your Security Solution
The Biometric Fingerprint Reader offers better security since it uses unique fingerprints instead of PINs or passwords that can be shared easily. This way, you're ensuring only the right people get access to your most important documents!
