Overview

Despite its name, BigSplit is not a fitness-oriented application that would guide you through getting better at doing splits. In fact, this application allows one to split any files, even if it's larger than 10 GB. Why would you want to split such large files? The answer is simple – split items are easier to transfer or share, which can come in handy for users who require this type of help.

Splitting Files

Splitting files can be done by opening the Split tab, choosing an item to split, determining the output location, and finally, opting for the preference settings. There are two ways to split a file - by volume, which allows you to set a file size for each segment, or equal parts splitting, which lets you choose the number of segments while their size is equally distributed.

Joining Files

After you've successfully split your files, you need a way to glue them back together. The Join tab will allow you to do just that. Follow the same principle as with the splitting method, and you'll manage to restore your documents.

MD5 Hash Generator

In case you are concerned about your file's integrity, there is also an MD5 Hash generator for you to employ. This can be helpful for scenarios where you need to transfer or store your data and want to make sure that information stays intact and unmodified. You can generate hashes for two files at once, and you can quickly copy them to the clipboard from inside the app's UI.

BigSplit is a simple file splitter, with an extra feature thrown in. You can count that as two features, but a file joiner seems mandatory for such an application, so it doesn't count. As for the MD5 Hash generator, that comes in very handy, especially if you don't have one at your disposal.
