BetterZip QuickLook Generator

BetterZip QuickLook Generator is super handy! It allows you to view the contents of compressed archives while using Quick Look. You can peek into the archives without having to unzip them.

Supported Archive Formats

This tool supports a variety of archive formats, including ZIP, TAR, GZip, BZip2, CHM, CAB, CPIO, ARJ, LZH, ISO, StuffIt's SIT, DiskDoubler, BinHex, RAR, 7-Zip, DEB, RPM, and MacBinary.

Setting Your Options

You can customize your options directly in the Quick Look pop-up. Simply click the Preferences button in the upper right corner, set your preferences, and click the button again to hide it. Please note that these settings do not persist between sessions, but there is a way to set default preferences.

How to Set Default Preferences

If you want to save your preferences for future use, follow these steps:

1. Right-click (or control-click) on the bundle BetterZipQL.qlgenerator.


2. Select Show Package Contents.


3. Navigate to the subfolder Contents/Resources and locate the file config.js.


4. Open config.js with a text editor.


5. Edit your default preferences in config.js. Each line corresponds to a checkbox in BetterZip's config box, with 0 indicating unchecked and 1 indicating checked.


6. Save the file when you're done.
